Thai heaven

First (overzealous) attempt at homemade Thai food...

The mess

My spring rolls...they were quite messy but I haven't figured how to roll them and keep them shut...

Udon noodles with peanut sauce

My fusion soup-tom yun goong and tom kha gai-delicious but spicy! Some like hot and some sweat when the heat is on....

Making Latkes

I've hit a gold mine! Two cooking lessons in two weeks! Ally's class made potato latkes this time. Her class is awesome...they are so eager to try new things.

Making Pizza

Ally's class invited me to make pizzas with them...Heck yeah I don't miss an opportunity to eat! I was on germ patrol-kids washed their hands numerous times but we didn't cook an cooties!

M's pants were falling but he couldn't hold them up without having to wash his hands again, so Ally stepped in...

Yummy!

Cayce Holiday Parade 2008/AFG Event

As the tital suggests, it is an annual event for the AFG folks to go to the Cayce Holiday parade. So pretty. I love lights. Here are some of our buddies.

St. Nicholas Festival

So I was driving around West Columbia and saw "St. Nicholas festival" and Russian food. I am all over Russian food. So I decided to take Talia and Bella, while Julie took Elias to a birthday party. So much fun. We met some Russian folks that are members of that church and we met lots of adoptive families with kids from that area of the world. We played games, we made crafts, we heard music and most important-we ate. Talia and Bella tried different things, but I think I like it the most. We also met a woman named Tatiana and her husband Nicoli (who is from the Saratov region). She took an instant liking to Talia and I am made sure we were comfortable all day. We also got muscadine wine from nuns trying to raise money for their monastery and cute authentic Russian ornaments. Happiness! Got on their mailing list. Seems they do a big event about each quarter. Fun!

Here is Talia eating vinaigrette salad with sour cream...How very Russian! (Maybe this spurred her Russian-ness and helped her to pull her own teeth later?)

One of the 80 times we had to talk to St. Nicholas. Are all kids this obsessed with Santa and St. Nicholas?

Bella and Talia playing golf.

Just come cuteness.
