No new is good news?
So, many people are curious about the progress of the adoption, but nothing much is happening. We are still sending out our family profile to different birthmoms, so we could be picked anytime. I still have a sense of peace that when it is time for a baby to come, then we'll get a call. So many things we see in hindsight as having worked out the right way, so I am trying to have that hindsight now. (oh, now doesn't that make sense!) Talia is not as patient, and still asks if we have "have that baby?" to random babies we see, so I am probably known as the would-be baby stealer but we're working on that :) She continues to say "I miss my baby sister. Why is she taking so long?" If questioned about wanting only a sister, she says "Oh, or a brother" but I guess in complaints, it is better to miss the sister-to-be. Right now she has a doll in the carseat her sibling will use and is feeding her with a sippy cup. She's ready.

House Revamp
So, we were getting a little tired of the bushes in the front yard, so we gave them to Mike's cousin Jessica. She and her BF came and helped Mike dig up 7 gigantic shrubs and lots of lariope. So, after 3 hours at the Midlands Flower and Plant Festival (i.e. heaven), I came home with some new stuff.
Before...
All kinds of purty plants and a random bird dude that begged me to bring him home. Begged.
Another angle. Nice birdbath.
My herb garden.

Floor Finale!
Wow. So for the past 1 1/2 months we have been dealing with cat pee. Oh, that IS as exciting as it sounds. Sara had a UTI and started peeing on the carpet, which we could not get cleaned. Frustration led to parts of the carpet being ripped up, which led to more frustration, which led to more carpet being ripped up.
So then we ripped up all the carpet and I painted several layers of KILZ on the slab floor, which sealed in the smell, which was getting worse as we waited. Then, instantly, all gone! Then I got a little adventerous and painted the floor brown with terra cota on top. I am quite pleased! We're going to add a rug and a daybed and then our guest room will be ready! Smell-free!
